We Love Volunteers

Volunteers offer a wonderful supplement and complement to the dedicated and capable staff.

Volunteers allow Nassau County kids to benefit from the vast talent and caring in the local community. You don’t need any special degrees to help us.

Volunteers can:

  • Help Club staff
  • Provide a variety of better and richer experiences for Club members
  • Provide more positive adult role models
  • Provide help with homework and activities such as athletics, computer learning games, knitting, gardening…
  • …and much more!
Become a Volunteer

Interested in becoming a Volunteer?

Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation has merged with Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. Any mention of either organization should be viewed as the same entity.

If you have a special talent you would like to share with the members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County, we’d love to hear about it. After scheduling a Club tour, all volunteers are matched with their program area of interest. Frequency of participation is determined by the individual volunteer. Volunteers typically donate at least an hour of their time per Club visit throughout the year. All of our ongoing volunteers are required to undergo a fingerprinting and Level 2 background screening for the safety of our members and staff.

One-time volunteers can only volunteer once per calendar year without going through the fingerprinting and Level 2 background screening process.

For more information about volunteering, please contact Dawn Spinella by email dawns@bgcnf.org at  or call 904-557-4503.

One-Time and Ongoing Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Individual volunteers help facilitate after-school programs and activities that enrich the lives of our Club members. Volunteer opportunities can be tailored to your special interests and talents. Some are one-time projects and others become ongoing relationships.

Make an Impact

  • Please email a little about yourself and your interests to Dawn at dawns@bgcnf.org and copy Nicki at nickip@bgcnf.org after you have completed your application. (CRITICAL STEP)
  • We'll discuss your interests and how you would like to support the Boys and Girls Clubs.
  • Background checks are required to work with children, but it's an easy step.
  • If a volunteer has lived outside the State of Florida in the past five years, additional costs may apply to receive out-of-state records.

One-Day/In-Kind/CSR Group Volunteer Opportunities

Giving even just a few hours of your time can help make a difference in the lives of our children. We have many ways that you and your team can give back to your community.

Make an Impact

While we make our best attempt to match groups with the right opportunities, we may not be able to accommodate certain groups and specific timing due to Club capacity/core programming.

  • To get started or to propose a group volunteer opportunity, please email Dawn Spinella at DawnS@bfcnf.org with any specifics you can share.
  • We'll reach out to you to discuss your ideas and how your group can support the kids.
  • If all parties feel it’s a good fit, we will solidify the details and schedule the opportunity accordingly.
